I'm not asking this to be a smart ass but your name Blade Maker...does that mean you actually make swords? :P

I make wooden swords when I can and afford to at home. I recently started a tolkien-inspired evish sword which just needs to be shaped/painted. Tell me, what's your favourite sword to make? And what's it like using your own creation in practice?

well, my swords feel alive in my hands, I practice most with a saber, either European or Asian and the reason for that is simply that is what have lying about.

I make and use suburi bokens a lot too.

My favorite to make Hmm... that's a tough question, think i would have to say it was a spring loaded rapier sword cane. It felt exactly like a really good Jian/ Gim. One of my friends that drives a horse buggy in New Orleans carries that now.

Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be done.

Martial Arts is my way of Life.

When I get up in the morning i run the complete heian system form. My spare time is spent reading or writing about combat and combat systems. I watch TV while in a 2nd degree horse (mountain) stance, and as I type this I am doing an Isometric wall sit.

I have studied Combat Systems Since i was 6, more than 25 years.
my first system was german saber, then judo and karate and taijutsu. After that was sambo and fillipino stick and knife fighting.
    Then Theriputic Crisis Intervention (TCI).

I participated in MMA back in the 1990's when it was actually no holds barred.

I majored in kinesiology, focusing on combat science at IUPUI.
I also taught self defense at IUPUI for 3 years.
After that I taught at a private Combat club.

Now I make and customize martial arts weapons, and it's not as expensive as you might think.
