    Shouldn't be.
Intimidation is the growth of fear.
Fear is a creation of instinct.
Your self-preservation instinct to be exact.

Your life isn't in danger, in any way shape or form.

    Your fear, isn't justified.

Intimidation also comes from the feeling of inferiority, but on this forum, all are equals.
In martial arts, are courageous people are equal, just as all cowards are equal.
Which then comes back to self-preservation...etc etc :P

I'm not afraid of you. Impressed really. You've always seemed headstrong and um...how do i say it...kind of aggressive. But yet, always right somehow. I'm trying to compliment you but I'm worried this is coming out as insults :P I mean well I promise :P

    haha...
I know I'm a bit headstrong. Dad said it ran in our family. Anyone who's ever fought has been a little stubborn and headstrong. So between my Dad and I we try to work on our ego and all that. Do our best to understand humility and practice what we preach.

I do regard myself as highly inferior. In every respect. Martial Arts is the only thing that makes me feel worth something, but even then, I have trouble just letting go of shit.

Self-improvement is a massive part of any martial art. If I ever find myself in NSW, I'd be more than happy to pay you for any lesson you could give me on your family style :P it sounds interesting.

As for me being right, I don't mean to shut anyone out. I never try to shut anyone out. I find it hideously disrespectful to both one's self and others.

I've just had a lot of experience in the field...
Not all of it good :P haha
So in a place where we can share our experience, I can comfortably give my opinion on it.

and comfortably you do :) It's refreshing though. And you don't shut anyone out. I've noticed you always keep an open and respectful mind to other people. But 9 times out of 10, I've agreed completely with your posts.

    I don't understand why you'd feel inferior.
I've gotten in trouble because I've expected to be treated equal between martial artists.

I was once told by a WC artist that "I've got 18 more years of training that you do, you should give me the respect I demand!" and I thought "Well, your skill may be far greater, but you're an unenlightened git." Which is an argument of philosophy. Whether we're all equal or whether equality is subject to experience.

It's a thing I have. I instantly feel inferior to pretty much anyone that pretty much isn't homeles, on drugs or leading some horrible life-style. Low (but improving) self-esteem.

hahaha! Low self-esteem won't get me killed. The lack of will to act stemming from it will :P But don't worry. like i said, slowly improving. Once I can drive, itll be karate twice a week. And now my Dad wants to take up Kendo so Ill do that with him too. :) But yeah, martial arts is proving a good self-image improver. especially when I do well.

    I've just never been interested.
I was never motivated to get my L's, especially when public transport was always readily available and people were always bitching about the cost of a car.

A car is becoming more and more necessary for me. With looking for a job, martial arts and the upcoming uni course, car pooling with my dad isn't so convenient anymore.

My house is in front of a bus stop, and my Uni is behind a bus stop.
My Dad taught me martial arts.

    Works for me :P

My house is infront of a train station. My martial arts doesn't go anywhere near a train station. But next year, my course will require me to bring home HUGE and EXPENSIVE bits of equipment. not exactly the best thing to commute with :P

What are you doing your course in?

Film and TV. I need to hire out cameras worth well over 20K to work on projects out of uni. and thats just one part of the equipment. If you tallied up everything required to make a short 90 second film, the budget would reach well over 50-70K...i don't wanna travel with that money on a train :P

I'm hoping to major and focus on the 3-d modelling and animation aspect, and use the degree to go into gaming. I'm a passionate gamer (gaming and girlfriend are the things that take me away from leisure karate practice :P) but I can't program for shit. So I'll either write or design :P But one way or another, I'm going into the games industry.

    Sounds brilliant.
There's a Uni in Sydney City that explicitly caters for the gaming industry. I have a friend that goes there, though she says the workload is comparable to a science degree.
For an assessment, she had to learn a very particular gaming engine inside out. Literally...in the code...
    and she's first year.
    Freaked me out.

lol yeah i think thats Qantm college. I'm trying to stay away from specific unis. They have a tendancy to offer a lot and not deliver.

Yeah so it seems :P My sister went to a specific school like that. When she applied for jobs with her certificate, they laughed and said "that qualification isn't worth the paper it's written on." :P Thats just my experience. No offence intended.
