No offence mate but it doesn't sound like he's interested in strength. He wants a different physique. I started lifting weights because I was fat and got teased for it. I started when I was 14 and 9 months later I was much slimmer and had some actual muscles in my arms, I felt confident enough to walk about the beach with my top off and my "nickname" had to change cos I was no longer a "fat cunt" I think as long as you make sure he's smart about it and doesn't strain himself there's no reason why he shouldn't do some bodybuilding. BBing got me into exercise boosted my confidence made me stronger (obviously) and improved my cardio vascular fitness (anyone who thinks weights don't do that has obviously never done sets of 20 rep squats!) sure I never went above 40kg in squats DLs etc nor over 25kg on compound upper body movements until I was 16 but if he's doing pull ups he's lifting almost his entire body weight. That's gotta be around 40kg+ It may take years of dedicated training dieting and steroids to achieve the action film star physique but that'll become apparent after a couple of years, as for his problems disappearing, for me they did. I didn't get teased, I could talk to girls easier and less people bullied me. There will always be wankers who can't feel good about themselves unless they're trying to make others feel bad...
Mmmm, maybe I'm projecting as they say. What I wish I could do if I could go back and do it all again....etc, etc.
This subject inspired me to write a little about lifting and martial artist.... Che k it out I hope you like it.
OK! No, I did misunderstand! I track right with you now. It is a tough call, but personally I agree with you... that age is too young in my opinion. Of course others may say, that is how you build a champion when they have that drive at this age. Tough call... body development, etc...
