When I was competitively powerlifting, for my third attempt in each of the three lifts (the heaviest lift), I would always play that "dirty" version of that DMX song to get me pumped up.
Shockingly, for some of my "lighter" although still very heavy attempts, I would play, among other things...
Yup, Dave Matthews:
The intro to this song never fails to get me pumped up!
@ enkidu: ur jonny cash reminded me of this
I love Cash. I used to have a t-shirt with a pic of him on the front that is the same as from 1:51 from that video you posted!
he is sorely missed
Everyone listens to him.
Even guys you may not expect...
Almost all of my friends used to bodyguard for Dr. Dre at one time or another. According to them, Dre is a HUGE Cash fan.
I could see that, Dre is a musician first, good music has no boundaries...
Now I am shocked Sir!! Respects Endiku xxXXxx
Heh... I tend to like a lot of music that has a bubbling rising tension just below the surface. That Dave Matthews tune fits the bill for that.
The version of "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone I posted above fits that bill too.
