Looking at taking up an internal martial art to complement my current training(primarly ninjutsu) now that I have moved to a larger city.

What are the major differences between the two arts?

There seem to be plenty of tai chi schools around here.
I don't want it to be just for health benefit but actual self defense application, what should I look for?
What are the differences between the type of tai chi ( yang vs Chen vs hoa )?

Not being an "internal" practitioner and going on observation of techniques and training it would seem that Ba Gua has a bit more focus on combat. This is by not getting speculative and saying "These techniques could be utilized in combat" (Tai Chi) vs partner up and drill these techniques (Ba Gua). Again, this is just my opinion as an outsider so to speak. But since no one else has offered any opinion at all I figured I'd give you some feedback.;)
